Pamper Your Feet: The Ultimate Guide to Paraffin Foot Dips and Their Benefits
In our fast-paced lives, our feet often bear the brunt of our daily activities, leaving them tired, sore, and in need of some tender loving care. Enter the paraffin foot dip—a luxurious and therapeutic treatment that promises to rejuvenate and soothe your weary feet. If you haven’t yet indulged in this spa-like experience, here’s everything you need to know about paraffin foot dips and the myriad benefits they offer.
A paraffin foot dip involves immersing your feet in a warm, melted paraffin mixture. The paraffin, often infused with essential oils and moisturizing agents, coats your feet in a thick, soothing layer. Once the paraffin cools and hardens, it is peeled away, leaving your feet soft, supple, and deeply moisturized.
Intense Moisturization: Paraffin is renowned for its ability to lock in moisture. The warm paraffin opens up pores and allows the hydrating oils to penetrate deep into the skin, providing intense hydration. This treatment is especially beneficial for individuals with dry, cracked heels or rough patches on their feet.
Improved Circulation: The heat from the paraffin increases blood flow to your feet. Improved circulation helps to bring oxygen and nutrients to the tissues, promoting healing and overall foot health. This is particularly beneficial for people who suffer from cold feet or conditions like Raynaud’s syndrome.
Pain Relief: The warmth of the paraffin can provide significant relief from aches and pains. It’s particularly effective for those suffering from arthritis, muscle stiffness, and joint pain. The heat helps to relax muscles, reduce inflammation, and improve mobility in the feet and ankles.
Skin Softening: Regular paraffin foot dips can lead to noticeably softer and smoother skin. The treatment helps to exfoliate dead skin cells and reveal the healthy, fresh skin beneath. This can be a game-changer for anyone dealing with calluses, corns, or rough skin.
Stress Relief: There’s something inherently relaxing about a warm paraffin foot dip. The soothing heat, combined with the act of taking time out for self-care, can reduce stress levels and promote a sense of well-being. This makes it a perfect addition to your relaxation routine.
Detoxification: Paraffin treatments can aid in the detoxification process by drawing out impurities from the skin. This not only helps to keep your feet clean but also prevents conditions like athlete’s foot and other fungal infections.
A paraffin foot dip is more than just a pampering treat—it’s a therapeutic ritual that offers a host of benefits for your feet and overall well-being. Whether you’re dealing with dryness, pain, or simply need to unwind, this luxurious treatment can make a world of difference. So, the next time your feet are crying out for attention, give them the paraffin foot dip they deserve and step into a world of relaxation and rejuvenation.
Treat your feet—they carry you through life!

The Importance of Pedicures: Beyond Beauty to Long-Term Benefits
Pedicures are often seen as a luxurious indulgence, a treat for special occasions, or a way to pamper yourself or a friend. However, the benefits of regular pedicures go far beyond the aesthetic appeal of well-groomed toes and smooth feet. Pedicures play a crucial role in maintaining overall foot health and can have long-term advantages that many people might not be aware of. Let’s check out the reasons why pedicures are more than just a beauty treatment.
One of the often-overlooked benefits of a pedicure is the improvement in blood circulation. The massage that accompanies most pedicures helps stimulate blood flow to the feet and lower legs. Good circulation is essential for overall health, as it helps deliver oxygen and nutrients to cells while removing waste products. Enhanced circulation can also reduce pain and help with conditions like varicose veins.
Regular pedicures can help in the early detection of foot problems. Professional nail technicians are trained to recognize signs of issues such as fungal infections, corns, bunions, and other abnormalities. Catching these problems early can prevent them from becoming severe, avoiding potential pain and more complicated treatments down the line.
Foot hygiene is incredibly important, and pedicures play a significant role in maintaining it. Proper cleaning and exfoliation during a pedicure help remove dead skin cells that can harbour bacteria. This reduces the risk of infections, particularly fungal infections like athlete’s foot, which thrive in moist, enclosed environments. Additionally, trimming and cleaning toenails prevent ingrown toenails, which can be painful and lead to infections.
Feet are prone to dryness and cracking, especially the heels. Pedicures involve soaking the feet and applying moisturising treatments, which help keep the skin hydrated and beautifully soft. Regular moisturising can prevent painful cracks and calluses, ensuring that the skin on your feet remains healthy and beautiful!
The soothing experience at The Nail Studio Salon of a pedicure can be a powerful stress reliever. The combination of warm water, massage, and relaxation can reduce stress and anxiety levels, promoting overall well-being. Reducing stress is beneficial for both mental and physical health, impacting everything from sleep quality to cardiovascular health.
Well-maintained feet can boost your confidence, especially during warmer months when sandals and open-toed shoes are common. Feeling good about your feet can enhance your overall self-esteem and moreover, taking time out for self-care activities like pedicures can contribute to a positive mindset and a sense of well-being!
Regular pedicures contribute to long-term foot health by maintaining hygiene, ensuring proper nail care, and addressing minor issues before they escalate. Pedicures can help keep your feet in good condition for years to come, and healthy feet are essential for mobility and independence, particularly as we age.

Apr 6, 2017 | Beauty, Eyelashes, Permanent Makeup
Our beauty needs are all unique, so when it comes to permanent eye makeup — luckily — we are spoilt for choice! There are essentially three types of permanent eyeliner applications:
Traditional Eyeliner
A continuous line along or above the eyelash line. Very much the same as using eyeliner pencil to draw continuous lines just below or above your eyelashes.
Lash Enhancement
Dots inserted between, along or above existing eyelashes along your natural eyelash line. The result is a very soft, subtle and natural look which makes this application very popular.
Designer Eyeliner
This is for those who desire a dramatic, bold look and want to draw attention to their magnificent eyes, no matter what time of the day it is. There are a few designer eyeliner styles to choose from – including two different colours. Designer styles may be different colours, accentuated corners, raised edges or middles, the sky is the limit. This eye procedure may require a 6-week follow up due to swelling and to ensure that each and every line is created.

Having a facial is, without a doubt, one of the most underrated beauty treatments! Stimulates the blood flow to aid the flow of oxygen and other nutrients to the skin and its underlying tissue, and helping in the efficient removal of waste products.
- Helps with dull, lifeless and congested skin – giving your skin a healthy-looking glow.
- Maintains the tone and the underlying muscle, therefore preventing lines from forming.
- Helps the skin’s natural elasticity.
- Refines the textures of the skin, making the skin look healthy.
- Contributes to cellular regeneration, which prevents the skin looking aged before its time.

Mar 16, 2017 | Waxing
Everyone could do with a little waxing wisdom, especially when there are so many myths about there that are not true.
There are so many benefits to waxing – the biggest is probably that hair removed by wax actually grows back finer and softer over time. That means it will also become much easier to remove over time, and it will also be less painful over time.

Mar 16, 2017 | Waxing
It’s not really something that we talk about. Well, publically anyway.
So we’re speaking out – and giving you all the tips – and hopefully courage you need to take the plunge and get a Brazilian wax. Trust us, you’ll thank us later (over and over again).
Make sure your hair is the right length
The ideal length for waxing hair is somewhere in between being “too short” or “too long”. If your hair is too short, the wax won’t be able to effectively grab hold and pull the hair out, whereas if it’s too long it can be a lot more painful than it should be. How do you know what that is? When your hair is about the length of a grain of rice, it’s the right time to get a wax.
Exfoliate before
Waxing doesn’t only remove your hair; but also exfoliates your skin. About two days before your wax take a loofah to exfoliate the skin to be waxed. This will remove dry, dead skin and make it much easier (and less painful) for the wax to grab and remove hair follicles.
If you have the luxury, soak in a warm bath
Soaking in a warm bath will open up your pores and soften your hair follicles, making waxing far easier – and again less painful.
Skip your ritual coffee
A Brazilian is probably one of the only times that we’ll encourage you to skip your ritual coffee. Stimulants in coffee make your skin very sensitive, so we recommend skipping your coffee altogether on the day of your wax. But don’t worry, you can double up after your wax is over and get your caffeine fix.
Take a painkiller before
Roughly 45 minutes before your wax appointment, take two painkillers (aspirin) with a full glass of water. This will help to take the edge off and ensure you’re feeling more relaxed and less susceptible to pain when the time comes for your wax.
Breathe
The best advice we can give you, really really, is to BREATHE. Most of us anticipate a level of pain just before our beautician removes the hair with the wax strip – naturally this means our bodies tense up – it’s a natural reaction. Taking a deep breathe in and exhaling it just as deeply will distract you and help you to relax. This makes all the difference in your waxing experience!

Mar 16, 2017 | Eyelashes
If women had to identify one of their secret weapons, it would definitely be eyelash extensions.
Applying (and removing) mascara every day is not exactly something we as women look forward to, which is probably why the idea of having full, beautiful eyelashes after one appointment may sound a little too good to be true. But it’s not. A specially trained beautician applies individual eyelashes one by one, using a special long-lasting glue that will hold them in place for three to four weeks.
How are the eyelashes removed?
You won’t need to make another appointment to have your eyelashes removed – they will naturally fall out .
How often do I need to come in for a fill?
It is recommended to come in for a fill at 3 weeks, but this will largely depend on how many eyelashes have naturally fallen out and when you feel you need to come in for a fill. Your beautician will advise on some tips to follow so your extensions stay in place as long as possible.
How long does it take?
At Nail Studio and Beauty, Comaro View Shopping Centre, your first appointment will take about 2 hours. Thereafter your fill appointment will take about an hour.
Can I choose the length of my eyelashes?
Yes, you can! Many of our customers at Nail Studio and Beauty choose “natural” length, but we do have longer lengths to choose from for a more glamourous look.
What are the benefits of eyelash extensions?
Probably the most appealing benefit to eyelash extensions is that you can literally get up and go. No fussing with mascara, or eyelash curlers.
What will it cost?
- Individual Eyelash Extensions
- Individual Full R800
- 3/4 Fill R500
- Fill R400
- 1/4 Fill R200
- Cluster Eyelash Extensions
- Full R600

- Fill R300
- 1/4 Fill R200

Nov 30, 2016 | Beauty, Eyebrows
Imagine your eyebrows looked like this for two to three years, every morning without fail? When we launched a new service called microblading, our community in the Johannesburg southern suburbs and even further as far as Sandton and the greater Johannesburg area, responded with absolute delight 😉
Microblading is a form of semi-permanent eyebrow makeup where pigment is implanted under your skin with a manual handheld tool. The professional beauty therapist — who should have undergone professional training to perform such a procedure — draws hair-like strokes with the tool to mimic natural hairs in your brows. It’s a form of tattoo makeup artistry (but not as deep as a tattoo) that aims to partially or fully camouflage missing eyebrow hair with the appearance of simulated hair using ultra fine deposits of cosmetic tattoo pigments.

If you’re like us, you’ll love this fun article by Makeup.com on what your brows say about you 😉 We’d love to know if there’s any truth in it – tell us on our Facebook page here.
Untamed Brows
Like your burly brows, you like to run wild. You are not a person who colors inside the lines and you most definitely cannot be bothered to tweeze your brows. And with full, bold brows being all the rage right now, why should you? You prefer to live life on your own terms and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
Curved Brows
In addition to having a creative mind, you are quite the savvy businesswoman! And as if that wasn’t enough, studies have shown that your brows signify trustworthiness, so it’s likely that you’re that friend everyone counts on when things get a little rough. Keep that curve curvy by trying a two-in-one tool that will colour and shape your brows at once.
Naturally Thick Brows
Confidence is not an issue for you, especially since you were born with the trendiest brows ever! Just like your brows, you’re quite the bold, assertive one. And while you were blessed with naturally full brows, you definitely like to keep them under control (like everything else in your life). Brow gel is (or should be) your go-to for showing those brows who’s running the show.
Straight Brows
You fall more on the logical and intellectual side of things, and aren’t one for impulsive, irrational decisions. You have your daily routines — from makeup to meals — down to a science. To keep your brows on the straight and narrow, enlist the help of an ultra-slim pencil. While we love your solid, unwavering brows, we encourage you to shake things up once in awhile and try something a little impulsive!
Arched Brows
You’re a total dreamer and the sensitive one in your group. That being said, you like to keep details of your life private and have a stubborn streak about you. We promote being stubborn with your makeup routine, especially in relation to your brows. Don’t sacrifice that natural, angled shape! Make sure you tweeze regularly (and properly) and keep a brow kit handy to make sure your shape is always on-point.
Thin Brows
Oh, you indecisive one! Your sparse brows tell us you have a rough time making decisions and like to enlist the opinions of others before taking a side on anything. And while we like to encourage you to go with your gut a little more often, we would like to put our two cents in when it comes to your brows. Whether your slim brows are by choice or by nature, may we suggest filling them out a bit? We’re not just pushing this because full, bold brows are in, but thin, sparse brows have a way of instantly aging you. And we know you don’t want that!
If you dream of picture-perfect brows, why not consider microblading? Have a look at one of our clients below – how her eyebrows are beautifully defined. Microblading darkens brows, covers gaps or fills in over-plucked brows with results lasting 2-3 years! Call to book (011) 432 4958 – Comaro View Shopping Centre, Bassonia
